My 23 Thing

Web 2.0/23 things was a good learning experience. It showed me a wide arrange of databases and websites that can be used in everyday life. Of the 23things the one I enjoyed the most was delicious and blogger. Delicious is a great way for me to keep up with all the websites that I use on a regular basis(personal and work). Blogger was really cool for me because it allowed me to express myself in an anonymous way.Even though it is anonymous other people are still able to view your thoughts and progess. For the most part blogging is for the whole world to see.

Web 2.0 reminded me that nothing is impossible if you take the time to learn and put effort into trying and learning new things. I think some times as adults we think things are supposed to be easy. This is a reminder all things dont come easy but it is worth the effort if you're willing to try.

Web2.0 was pretty cool overall. If there was another 23things I'm not sure I would participate. It would depend on what we were learning and the amount of time it would take to do it.

Audio Books In Overdrive/Three Musketeers

The audio library catalog is very diverse. There was a large range of digital books to choose from. Overdrive was also very easy to use. As I searched the site I found out the site is not Ipod compatible, which is a minus. Overall though it is something that I would use on a regular basis now that I am more comfortable using it.

Description of Three Musketeers

Set during the reign of Louis XIII (1610-43) and based on actual events, The Three Musketeers is perhaps the greatest "cloak and sword" story ever written. Three Musketeers, loyal servants of the King, are joined by the dashing D'Artagnan, a veritable Byronic hero. These four are pitted against the master of intrigue, Cardinal Richelieu, and the quintessential wicked woman, Lady de Winter. Dumas was quite expert in pacing and varying action while weaving historical fact with purest fiction. This great work is the unchallenged archetype for literary romance and has been a perenial delight for generations of readers

Podcast

Podcast is exactly what it says it is. Broadingcasting online, or an ipod(etc). Podcasts can be extremely helpful because you use them for tutorials or instructionals. I also liked they way different libraries use them. Some libraries used podcasts to tell children stories and showcase different techniques. It would be nice if the we could do something of the same.

Stick and Roll

Wu tang

Woo Tang Wit It(you tube).

This 23 thing gave me the perfect excuse to look up a new dance called Woo Tang and the stick and roll(not so new). While on you tube there were over 40 different videos of the dance. Of them I looked at three. Some of them were good and some of them were not so good. So after I found a good one I learned the dance is just of an old version of what I used to do as teenager, just a little bit more exaggerated. Thankfully, I am still able to do it. However, the stick and roll, I have found out is just a little hard on the Knees. Some things you have to leave to the young folks like my grandma always used to say.
